Vocus today announced the launch of Vocus Calling, a simple, secure and flexible calling platform for enterprise and government customers that provides dedicated connectivity to leading collaboration solution providers.
With the rise and rise of cloud collaboration services through the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch of Vocus Calling brings an easy way for organisations of any size to add a cloud-based calling solution on top of their collaboration solution of choice, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Genesys.
Vocus Chief Executive, Enterprise & Government, Andrew Wildblood, said the rapid adoption of collaboration services across almost every industry in 2020, had demonstrated the value of simple and secure cloud-based communication platforms.
“Distributed workforces and the adoption of cloud-based platforms to keep people connected and keep businesses operating have quickly become the norm,” Mr Wildblood said.
“As we become accustomed to a ‘COVID-normal’ and collaboration solutions become almost second nature, we’re finding many enterprise and government customers are now wanting to move and integrate their existing calling service and have it all in the one solution.”
He said typically, that was a difficult and time-consuming exercise.
“Adding or integrating calling services often required a specialist to procure a voice service and the right network device, someone to install, manage and support it, and someone to potentially configure an existing PABX system as well. It’s been an all-or-nothing approach, with little choice and flexibility,” he said.
“Vocus Calling changes that by giving organisations the choice to keep using their existing collaboration service and we simply add the calling on the top. There’s no need for complex networking equipment, we provide secure connectivity on the Vocus network to their collaboration solution provider, and we provide the flexibility for them to scale up and down as they need.
