Vocus brings business and finance streaming service ausbiz online

Vocus, Australia’s specialist fibre and network solutions provider, is providing the connectivity powering new Australian business and finance streaming service, ausbiz.

Located at International Towers in Sydney’s Barangaroo Precinct, ausbiz provides live rolling coverage of the Australian stock market free, live and on demand – making fast and secure internet essential to its operations.

“We are seeing how critical it is, particularly during these uncertain times, for people to stay connected to relevant, meaningful information. Vocus is proud to be a part of bringing this timely and much-needed service to the market, by providing what we excel in – secure, reliable connectivity solutions,” said Vocus Chief Executive, Enterprise & Government, Andrew Wildblood.

Vocus will deliver a suite of data and voice services as part of its contract with ausbiz, including Vocus’ Enterprise Internet, Business Internet, Cloud Connect, and Unified Communications products.

Founded by Australian business and finance news veteran Kylie Merritt and chaired by finance expert and media personality David Koch, ausbiz will launch with live streaming from 10am-4.15pm weekdays, with video on-demand available 24/7. From April 14th, the live stream will begin at 8.30am for comprehensive coverage of Australian market announcements. A daily program about startups, produced in partnership with Startup Daily, will launch later in the month.

“Secure and high-capacity connectivity is fundamental to ausbiz offering a high-quality, uninterrupted video streaming service. ausbiz is proud to partner with Vocus to ensure our viewers get the best ausbiz experience, on demand, 24/7,” said Ms Merritt.

The ausbiz iOS app and website provides a personalised experience based on the user’s investment preferences. Twitter users can also stream live coverage of the Australian market open from 10am AEDT.

ausbiz will source its domestic finance data, along with in-depth research, international equities, indices, currencies, and commodities from leading Australian fintech platform Iress – another Vocus customer.
