Network

Vocus Mobile uses the Optus network, so your Vocus SIM connects to Optus’ national 4G and 5G mobile network.

5G is the next generation mobile network technology, offering significantly faster speeds, lower latency, and improved reliability compared to 4G . Standard 5G network uses bands N78, and requires a 4G LTE connection. When not in a 5G coverage area, compatible devices will switch to the 4G LTE network where it is available. 4G Network uses LTE bands B1, B3, B7, B28, and B40.

5G provides higher speeds, reduced lag, and better performance for demanding applications like live video conferencing, while 4G offers wide population coverage at slower speeds.

4G Backup is a 4G mobile internet connection that automatically activates if your main fixed-line connection goes down. It’s designed for fixed modems or routers capable of 4G backup and excludes mobile phones, iPads, or other mobile devices.

Plans

A SIM-only plan provides mobile service and data without a device. It can be standalone or shared via data pooling across eligible services.

Data pooling combines the included data from all eligible plans on a single account into one shared pool, which can be used by any connected service regardless of its individual data allowance.

5G Plans: There is no-excess-data charges, If included or shared data is exceeded, all connected services slow to 1.5Mbps until the next billing cycle unless extra data is purchased. Unused data expires at the end of each billing cycle.

4G Backup Plan: Excess data will automatically charge in increments of $10 for every additional 5GB

Yes. Using the Vocus Mobile Portal, you can monitor and track usage across all services. You will also get data usage alerts at 50%, 85% and 100%.

No. Vocus Mobile does not currently support wearable devices, including Apple Watch.

No, Call conferencing or 3-way call feature is not supported.

Roaming packs are available for over 100 Zone 1 countries and pay-as-you-go rates for other destinations.

If roaming is not active on your plan, you can enable it anytime via the self-service portal. Once active, roaming packs apply automatically in Zone 1 countries.
