Vocus has announced a strategic partnership with Australia’s leading technology distributor Dicker Data (ASX: DDR). The agreement positions Vocus as an anchor vendor in Dicker Data's newly established telco division.
The partnership provides Dicker Data's network of 12,500 technology partners with access to Vocus's business-grade data services portfolio. This includes dark fibre, ethernet services, internet connectivity and managed security solutions.
"This partnership represents a significant shift in how telecommunications services reach this segment of Australian businesses," said Keith Masterton, Vocus General Manager of Channel & Alliances. "We're committed to becoming the most partner-centric telco in Australia."
Masterton highlighted Vocus' streamlined approach compared to traditional telco models. "Partners want less red tape and the ability to move quickly. We're removing the barriers that have historically made telco difficult – no exclusivity requirements, no inch-thick contracts, just straightforward access to enterprise-grade services."
The agreement addresses a gap in the market where 28 per cent of total technology spend goes to telecommunications – a segment many IT partners have been unable to access. Through Dicker Data's distribution model, partners can now offer connectivity solutions without the complexity of direct wholesale arrangements.
“Vocus is redefining how channel partners engage with the telecommunications sector,” said Jason Hall, General Manager of Dicker Data’s newly formed Telco division. “Their partner-first strategy simplifies the engagement process and rewards partners for their business.”
“By removing traditional barriers, Vocus is making this new revenue stream more accessible to our partners than ever before. Plus, our partners will now have the ability to deliver end-to-end digital transformation solutions, from devices to connectivity, fully supported by Dicker Data’s team of Telco sales and technical experts” Hall added.
The partnership launches as Australian businesses increasingly demand integrated technology and connectivity solutions. Vocus supports partner success through a clear channel policy of preferencing net new partner deals. “Partner success is our success,” said Vocus’ Masterton.
Mid-market managed service providers represent the initial focus, with both companies targeting businesses that require enterprise-grade connectivity without the complexity that can come with enterprise telecommunications.
