Overview

  • 4,600km cable length
  • Approx 50 repeaters
  • 4 Fibre Pairs (100 Wavelengths per pair)
  • 40Tbps Initial Design capacity (100 Gbit/s per wavelength)
  • 24/7 monitoring
  • DC interconnects in Perth and Singapore

The ASC is a new submarine cable system linking Australia to Singapore, which started construction in 2017, with an estimated completion date of July 2018.

The four-pair fibre network will deliver a minimum of 40Tbps of capacity and will offer an approximate 30% reduction in latency from Sydney to Singapore compared to existing routes. The cable is now under construction, with an estimated completion date in July 2018.
