Vocus today announced the appointment of Michael Riad as Head of Products and the consolidation of all product development and management into a single team encompassing Enterprise, Government and Wholesale customers.

Vocus Chief Operating Officer, Ellie Sweeney said the changes create a focus on end-to-end product development and lifecycle management, supporting the expansion of the company’s product portfolio.

“We know that customers choose Vocus on the strength of our products and delivery,” Ms Sweeney said. “As we move into the next phase of our growth and investment strategy, it is critical to leverage the talent and teams within the organisation to help get us there.

“I’m delighted to have Michael lead this important work in addition to his team’s current oversight of our Future State program and Project Management Office – there are clear advantages of having these critical functions together as they’re all geared to support our growth ambitions and deliver new capability faster.

Previously General Manager, Vocus Transformation & Digitisation, Michael Riad has more than 20 years of experience in Australia’s technology industry delivering outstanding results in product management and development, sales, strategy and operations across small business, Enterprise and Government segments, as well as being a proven leader of large-scale strategic growth programs and transformation initiatives.

Mr Riad said today’s announcement builds on work already underway to create greater simplicity and accountability across the business

“We have a great opportunity to come together in a way that will make us more effective and sharpen our focus on expanding our product portfolio and capturing more market share in data networks, applications and services in the enterprise, government and wholesale segments,” Mr Riad said.

Also confirmed today was the appointment of industry veteran Craig Mulhearn to Head of Networks and Connectivity, who will join Vocus and the newly-formed Products team after an extensive career in the Australian telecommunications industry centred on product ideation, design, execution and management.

The appointments and changes are effective 9 August 2021.
