We’re committed to being an active and positive member of the communities we operate in
At Vocus, we focus our community investment in the areas where we are well positioned to make a difference, based on our strategic priorities, geographic reach, resources and expertise.
As a digital infrastructure provider with operations right across Australia, including in rural, remote and First Nations communities, we are committed to building critical connections and enabling better possibilities through our community investment strategy. We have prioritised two community investment focus areas that help us to achieve this purpose.
Community connections
Partnering to strengthen digital and social connectivity within rural, remote and First Nations communities.
Tech industry inclusion
Helping to broaden the diversity of the ICT sector, by connecting under-represented groups to opportunities for skill-building, networking and employment.

Stars Foundation partnership
We partner with Stars Foundation, an organisation that empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women through education and mentoring. Stars operates in more than 70 schools and supports thousands of students, helping them develop confidence, cultural connections, and essential skills for the future.
Tiwi Bombers Football Club sponsorship
Vocus is a major sponsor of the Tiwi Bombers Football Club and is proud of our long-term partnership with the club. Football has a deeply entrenched and entwined relationship with the Tiwi cultural landscape.
Beyond football, the club continues to use their position and national profile to reinvest in the positive growth of the greater Tiwi community, supporting important and significant change while tackling issues like youth suicide and alcohol abuse, improve health and education outcomes, and reduce unemployment.
This sponsorship build on Vocus’ delivery of the submarine fibre-optic cable from Darwin to the Tiwi Islands. The cable has significantly improved digital connectivity for Tiwi Islands’ residents, businesses, and local government, enabling better access to services, education and economic opportunities.

Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN)
Through our partnership with ABCN, Vocus volunteers mentor students from low socio-economic schools across multiple states. These programmes focus on building critical skills such as communication, problem-solving, and career readiness, helping students bridge the gap between education and employment.
Charles Darwin University Scholarships
We provide annual scholarships to support students enrolled in IT subjects at Charles Darwin University. These scholarships alleviate financial stress by covering course fees and materials, enabling recipients to focus on their studies and pursue careers in technology.
Volunteering
At Vocus, we are committed to fostering strong community connections and supporting meaningful causes through employee volunteering. We believe that by contributing our time and skills, we can make a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work, while also enriching the employee experience. All permanent team members at Vocus receive three days of paid volunteering leave each year.
Throughout FY25, our people undertook more than 1,700 volunteering hours within their local communities, supporting initiatives that promote food security, social connection, health and wellbeing, and community resilience.
