Vocus completes acquisition of Maxnet, commits investment

Auckland, New Zealand, 20 June , 2012 -- Australian telecommunication provider Vocus today confirmed yesterday's successful completion of New Zealand data centre and cloud services company Maxnet.
Vocus CEO James Spenceley says "after initially focusing on the integration of the two companies, we expect to make significant investment into the business."
"We are looking forward to growing Maxnet while at the same time offering a better service and experience for all of our customers," says Mr Spenceley. "We've been supplying commercial wholesale Internet to Australia and New Zealand for the past five years, and this investment marks the beginning of Vocus becoming more directly involved in the New Zealand market."
Maxnet is Vocus' fourth acquisition in 18 months.

Vocus provides connectivity to more than 160 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecommunication companies in Australia and New Zealand, making it one of the largest internet suppliers in the region.
Vocus was named the 2011 Australian Telecommunications Carrier of the Year" was twice consecutively listed as one of top five growing businesses in the Deloitte Australia "Technology Fast 50" awards (2010/2011).
The Maxnet acquisition was formalised today during a small ceremony involving both Maxnet and Vocus staff.
