Vocus becomes #1 nbn Enterprise Ethernet provider
Posted on July 21, 2020
Vocus, Australia’s specialist fibre and network solutions provider, today announced a new milestone in the growth of its enterprise business, as the #1 provider of nbn™ Enterprise Ethernet services.
Vocus provides close to one in four nbn Enterprise Ethernet services in the market today, drawing on its expertise in fibre networks, working with nbn, and delivering requirements for customers. This also includes delivering networks for major customers in regional and remote areas, work that is expected to position Vocus as the #1 provider of services on nbn Business Satellite.
The milestone follows Vocus’ recent success winning a number of large and complex deals with customers requiring fibre connectivity and network solutions to multiple sites across state, national and international geographies. These include deals with the Bureau of Meteorology, Northern Minerals, SA Health, and NSW Health, where Vocus is using its own network as well as nbn enterprise services.
Vocus Chief Executive, Enterprise & Government, Andrew Wildblood said the success was built on the business’ expertise in fibre and applying fit-for-purpose solutions to meet customer needs.
“Having our own extensive national fibre network and a team of world-class technical experts is extremely valuable in how we deliver services to enterprise and government customers,” Mr Wildblood said.
“Since mid-2019, we’ve steadily grown our capability to offer the full suite of nbn enterprise services. This now allows us to provide the most cost-effective mix of our own fibre and third-party fibre such as nbn, to deliver complex network solutions for major contracts.”
“Our approach is all about providing customers a brilliant network experience and making it simple and easy to connect,” he said.
Vocus’ contract with NSW Health is an example of how its deployment of nbn is providing a competitive advantage and delivering value for customers.
In its three-year deal with NSW Health, Vocus is providing point-to-point ethernet services for hospitals and health facilities across 80 sites in regional New South Wales, all on nbn Enterprise Ethernet.
For NSW Health, the upgrade to its Health Wide Area Network will enable ongoing improvements to the quality of healthcare it provides people in the Wagga Wagga, Queanbeyan, Dubbo, Coffs Harbour, and Lismore regions.
Mr Wildblood said Vocus’ recent successes in the enterprise market show there’s a positive working model for nbn as a wholesaler, supporting customers who want to leverage nbn fibre in combination with existing fibre from providers such as Vocus.
